Our
day begins with a short stroll in the magnificent Mossman Gorge then on
to the Daintree River and crossing by vehicular ferry to the Cape
Tribulation section of the Daintree National Park. Amazing vistas as we journey
over the Alexandra Range with stunning views across the Coral Sea and the
river delta coastline.
Onwards to Cape Tribulation where the
rainforest meets the reef. Morning tea and a short walk up the Kulki Track
gives us a splendid view over the beach, rainforest and and the inshore coral
reefs. Cape Tribulation is a must do for all visitors to the Far North.
Venturing on to Jindalba for one of the
most rewarding tracks through this ancient forest. Explore the lowland
rainforest and the botanical wonderland of grand trees, living fossil plants;
epiphytes,. orchids, cycads and ferns.
Time for lunch at Belly Hinton's Gallery
(one of the foremost botanical illustrators of our time), then over the range
for the Daintree River Cruise where the scenery reflects the jurassic
period with the estuarine crocodiles, birds and animals all sharing this ancient
intertidal habitat.
This safari is spent exploring one of the last
true remaining rainforest wilderness areas, a world of splendour with birds,
butterflies and amazing lowland rainforest areas, only found in today's World
Heritage regions.
